EARMARKING FOUNDERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

THE BIG LAUNCH - OVERVIEW

One of the greatest treasures that the youth can gain is knowing about the country and its real history. The Basic Schools and Senior High School (SHS) students will celebrate Ghana’s History Festival (GHF) annually from February to August.

GHF is organized by DeeDee Global and Ghana Education Service in collaboration with the Historical Society of Ghana, History Teachers Association of Ghana, Ghana Association of Visual Artistes and the Tourism Society of Ghana

Figure Drawing

This contest will run across Senior High Schools. Selected schools during the History Festival will present one candidate each to produce a portrait of our annual Historical Personalities. 2021 Personality was His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Below are the winning portraits from Six Senior High Schools.

Historical Cultural Contest

This category seeks to reward the best display in Historical Poetry, drum appellations, dance, cuisine, fashion etc.

Participants and invited guest will be thrilled to variety of arts and crafts on Ghana’s history. Interested members in photo-shoot will be allowed. Some items would be available for sale during the annual festivals.

NJPC – History In Pictures

The National Jigsaw Puzzle Competition – NJPC during the Ghana History Festival will converge Primary and JHS pupils/students and teachers from within Basic Schools to celebrate Ghana’s history in pictures. Students will be tasked to assemble jigsaw puzzles on historical themes fastest. These puzzles are learning materials approved by NaCCA for learning of history at the basic and Senior High Schools.
